A Message From Principal Delgado
Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,
We hope this letter finds you well and excited for the upcoming school year! As we prepare to welcome you back to another year of learning, growth, and adventure, we wanted to provide you with some important information to ensure a smooth transition into the new academic year.
First Day of School: We are thrilled to announce that the first day of school for the 2023-2024 academic year is Monday, August 28th. To ensure a timely start to the day, we will be serving breakfast from 7:30am to 7:50am. All doors will open promptly at 7:50am, and students are expected to be in their respective homerooms by 8:00am. The school day will conclude at 2:35pm.
· Sixth-grade students will enter through the glass doors located on 18th & Walnut.
· Seventh-grade students will enter through the doors on Walnut Street.
· Eighth-grade students will enter through the doors on St. Cloud Street.
Homeroom Assignments and Information Update: Included with this letter are your homeroom assignments for the new school year. It is essential that you report directly to your assigned homeroom on the first day.
6th Grade Orientation: On Wednesday, August 23rd we will be hosting an orientation exclusively for our incoming 6th-grade students. This is a fantastic opportunity for both students and parents to meet our dedicated teachers and staff members.
Virtual Campus Enrollment: If you are considering enrolling your student in the "Virtual Campus" program but have not yet done so, we kindly urge you to take immediate action. Please reach out to us by phone and speak with one of our Assistant Principals to make the necessary arrangements.
Enhanced Curriculum Investment: The Allentown School District (ASD) has invested significantly in a new curriculum that is designed to elevate the student learning experience. Our new curriculum is more standards-based, comprehensive, and coherent.
Updated Dress Code Policy: Dressing for success is an essential aspect of academic and professional life. We are proud to introduce an updated dress code policy that seeks to balance individual expression while maintaining a respectful and focused learning environment.
On-Demand Tutoring Initiative: We are thrilled to introduce our innovative on-demand tutoring program, aimed at providing students with additional support whenever they need it most. This program reflects our commitment to ensuring every student receives the assistance they require to excel academically.
