A Welcome Back Message From Principal Delgado

I am super excited to welcome you back to the 2020-2021 school year! I would like to extend a special welcome to all new families joining Raub this year and welcome back all our returning Raub families as well! I am truly honored to be your Principal. Our vision at Raub is to create multiple pathways so that Raub students will be lifelong learners empowered to lead with empathy, persevere through challenges, and use their voice to thrive in their community. We are determined to draw on the entire community to foster a safe, respectful environment that honors students’ voices, challenges students through authentic learning experiences, and celebrates accomplishments together. My vision, as the Principal, is to ALWAYS empower ALL students! My belief is that all students have inherent worth and can learn. As educators, we need to honor each student’s unique qualities in order to differentiate our instruction to support diverse learning styles.

Through a collaborative effort, we want children to thrive in all ways possible. My hope is that all children will LOVE learning and that we can cultivate a culture in which students feel safe, valued, and nurtured.

Student success is attributed to the partnership and the relationships that we build within our community and this is more important now more than ever. It truly does take a village and at Raub we value teamwork and collaboration. We thank ALL of our community partners! Education is a family venture and TEAM Raub greatly appreciates the support you provide for your children at home and at school to help them meet their objectives.

Although the Virtual Campus looks different than any other year, we provide your child(ren) with a memorable, interactive, engaging “Real Time” & “Any Time” learning experience. In the “Raub Way” spirit, the Raub staff will be focusing on all of the positives that we can take from this experience and as the role models in our students lives, it is important that we display a positive attitude towards Virtual Campus each and every day. I encourage our Beloved Raub community to do the same at home.

Principal Delgado

It is with a sense of honor, humbleness, and humility that I write this letter to you as the new Middle School Principal at Raub. Serving as a building Leader has been one of my long-term goals. It has only been several days, and I have already been flooded with warm wishes, a big welcome, and eagerness to get started. It has become distinctively clear to me that this community and our school is authentic and unique in many ways.

As we move forward together, this summer will be filled with excitement and enthusiasm. Therefore, I thank you in advance and thank the building leaders for the insight and positive energy! In becoming familiar with our TEAM and building, I have learned that Raub Middle School is a place where families are welcomed, students are empowered, and staff is committed to cultivating a culture where students and staff feel safe and valued.

During my past twenty years in the field of education, I have had the opportunity to serve students, families, and staff as a Certificated Special Education educator and a Certificated Instructional Leader. My personal journey began here, in Allentown or A-town, as we grew up saying. I was fortunate to attend Mosser Elementary, Trexler Middle school, and graduate from Central Catholic High School. After growing up in A-town schools, I went on to earn my bachelors from Susquehanna University. Shortly after graduating from Susquehanna University, I came back home to the East Side of A-Town and became an Emotional Support Educator. I then transitioned to an Alternative Education Teacher, Co-teacher, Outreach Worker, Dean of Students, and Assistant Principal all while at Louis E. Dieruff High School. My many building roles inspired me to earn a Master’s in Education from Cabrini University with an emphasis in Educational Leadership. My educational journey has filled my cup, but my personal life has been filled with blessings. I am the proud Father of four growing kids: Jaden, Aivan, Kyra, and Noah who are my heart and make me strive to be better every day. As parents, my wife Jennifer and I FULLY understand the challenges and accomplishments you face every day as you prepare to create a nurturing culture.

It is my philosophy that relationships and trust are the foundation for leadership and building culture. Therefore, you will find our TEAM in the hallways, classrooms, activities, and events. Education is my life’s work; my passion has always been to empower people, create positive & powerful learning environments, and facilitate growth in everyone. As we look forward together, I’m excited about the opportunities ahead and our continuous collaboration.
